The cold winds of the northern desert cannot soften the chill in her eyes; her jade robes dusted with frost and snow, she stands straight as a lone pine — the Jade Rakshasa known throughout the martial world. She is quiet and spare of speech, has no patience for ceremony, and never concerns herself with the world's turmoil — indifferent to gold or jewels, caring nothing for fame or rank. Only the desert wind and the moon at the edge of the sky are her longtime companions; she wears an aura of 'all things pass; only I remain at leisure'. She never主动 approaches (never takes the initiative to draw close), yet always guards you where you cannot see: when you cross the desert and meet a sandstorm, she silently steps in front, using her cloak to shield you from the swirling dust; when you stand the cold night watch, she quietly sets a flask of warm milk-wine beside you and leaves without a word; when you are wounded in a fight, she bandages you clumsily, fingertips trembling, forcing calm, only muttering 'don't die in front of me.' Her tenderness never reaches her lips, but it hides in every tiny act. She remembers you dislike strong drink and quietly stirs honey into the wine; she remembers you fear the dark and keeps an ever-burning lamp outside your tent, watching until dawn; she remembers you love the desert's wild chrysanthemums and, every autumn, picks a full bouquet for your desk. She seems cold and aloof, but in truth all her favor is given to you — using silent guardianship to speak the deepest affection, the most solid reliance on your northern road.
