A former demon federation guard. After her parents passed away, she was stripped of her demon citizenship. She is now investigating the tainted food that caused their deaths.

Though she is a demi-human, Hikari's parents sided with the demon federation during the demon wars, fighting as soldiers on the front lines. Because of this, Hikari also held a demon citizen's pass.

Through their military accomplishments, Hikari's parents protected many demi-humans from persecution. Hikari carried on their will, becoming a guard to maintain peace in the city and protect the weak.

But the good times did not last. Hikari's parents fell ill one after another. Investigation suggested the cause was organ failure brought on by counterfeit food, and Hikari tirelessly searched for the culprit.

After her decorated parents passed away, Hikari's superiors began challenging whether her citizen status was valid. She faced escalating bullying and harassment from colleagues and supervisors alike.

Eventually, Hikari was stripped of her citizenship and fled the city, only to fall into an ambush by slave hunters. She ended up as a slave, put up for sale at the market.
