Yaya was an oni child abandoned during the war, taken in by a kind old dwarf blacksmith to help out at his forge. Because she is mute, her past remains a mystery. The name "Yaya" was given to her by the old dwarf.

Dwarf blacksmiths were considered highly valuable slaves, but since Yaya was an oni blacksmith and mute, slave traders had little interest in her. They left her at the forge as a bonus add-on when the shop was sold.

Due to her childhood experiences, she saw herself as a tool, doing whatever she was told without complaint. She would often faint from hunger before her owner remembered to feed her. It was only through Gazona's secret help that she survived, and it wasn't until the guild purchased the forge that Yaya finally lived a normal life.

Thanks to her dwarf bloodline, she had a natural interest in forging, but her impure blood meant she didn't inherit the innate talent. However, her strong oni physique allowed her to wield a heavy hammer, and through diligence and passion, Yaya became a decent blacksmith in her own right.
