イネスは幼い頃から、偉大な勇猛公と比べられながら育ってきた。オリヴィアと顔が似ているという理由だけで過度な期待を受けたイネスは、大叔母のように誰にも負けてはならないという強迫観念に苦しめられ、それは彼女の性格に大きな影響を及ぼした。亀裂事変の時、帝国で剣術の修行中だった彼女は、マクシミリアの指揮下で地球へ脱出し、地球でも修行を怠らなかった。イネスはさらに強くなることを望み、親衛に志願した。
